Clean Rooms and GMP Facilities

We are the leading supplier to the pharmaceutical industry in Southern Africa

Clean Room:

A cleanroom is an enclosed area which is designed to eliminate contamination from the outside whilst minimizing contamination on the inside. This is achieved by introducing highly cleaned air into an area and maintaining this area at a positive pressure with respect to it’s surroundings.

A vital component in achieving this is therefore the cleanroom structure itself. If the structure is not perfectly sealed, if the surface finish is unhygienic or difficult to clean, if surfaces are not smooth or flush and have too many nooks and crannies then contamination can occur.

GMP Facilities:

A GMP Facility is a production facility or a clinical trial materials pilot plant for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products. It includes the manufacturing space, the storage warehouse for raw and finished product, and support lab areas.

Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to conform to the guidelines recommended by agencies that control the authorization and licensing of the manufacture and sale of food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements and medical devices. These guidelines provide minimum requirements that a manufacturer must meet to assure that their products are consistently high in quality, from batch to batch, for their intended use. The rules that govern each industry may differ significantly; however, the main purpose of GMP is always to prevent harm from occurring to the end user. Additional tenets include ensuring the end product is free from contamination, that it is consistent in its manufacture, that its manufacture has been well documented, that personnel are well trained, and that the product has been checked for quality more than just at the end phase.

Our cleanroom structure systems meet the high technical specifications required:

  • All walls, ceilings and doors are constructed with our modular insulated panels with the relevant choices regarding types of insulation and cladding.

  • All wall to wall, wall to ceiling and wall to floor joints are fitted with a specially designed PVC or Aluminium coving which clips onto an aluminium angle thus eliminating sharp corners where dust and dirt can accumulate.

  • All viewing panels are mounted flush with the wall panel surface.

  • LED lights are recessed into the ceiling panels and are mounted flush with the internal surface.

  • Panels can be fitted with internal conduits or ducts to accommodate other services such as electric cabling, computer cabling, gas, water, etc.

  • We also provide a full range of other accessories like pass-thru hatches, magnahelic gauges, magnetic interlocking door systems, air-showers,  step-over benches, garment and glove dispensers, coat hangers, lockers, boot racks, etc.

Because our panels are pre-painted and modular, our system is much quicker to install than conventional brickwork, does not involve any wet trades. It is relocatable, long lasting, maintenance free and when fully installed, provides a perfectly sealed area.
